Abstract

This article offers a panoramic introduction to the transmissional logic of the textual criticism hypothesis of the Greek New Testament which favours the Majority Text over the Textus Receptus and modern eclectic editions. First, the basic intuitions of the Majority Text school and the eclectic school are represented graphically. Subsequently, the theories of Hodges are compared with that of Westcott and Hort, which dominated in the twentieth century. Finally, the modern theories of Maurice Robinson and Klaus Wachtel are contrasted.
